This episode is a bit unconventional.

(Disclaimer: This episode is a bit heavy, but it’s inspiring! If you’re not in the mood, most of the other episodes are quite different. Check ‘em out.)

I’m making it all about me, and sharing what’s been going on in my personal life over the first few months of 2021. I took an unplanned hiatus from this podcast - and yes, we’re officially back! But aside from wanting to give some explanation for it, I also want to address the “collective exhaustion” so many of us are feeling right now. And to deal with this, I encourage leaning into what feels restorative, creative, and fun, in simple and pressure-free ways.

One of my goals for life is to be the kind of person that other people feel safe with. I mostly mean that I want people who spend time with me to feel understood, validated, and free from judgement. One way that I do this is by being honest about my own issues, setbacks, processes and solutions.

I try to do this throughout the podcast, when it’s relevant, but I tend to focus more on hindsight wisdom rather than giving people real access into my personal life (this isn’t a bad thing). But lately, I have been feeling the need to be a little more open - you’ll hear why in this episode - and instead of lessons learned I’m talking about living well through hard times.
